A woman-owned roasting operation that does everything in-house. Two locations means you can get your fix whether you’re coastal or inland.
Necessity — Encinitas
Roasting in-house with a clear emphasis on quality at every step, Necessity is a Moonlight Beach neighborhood staple. They recently launched a pizza program that’s generating serious buzz, and they partner with Relic Bageri for pastries that sell out early. Get there before 9am on weekends if you want the full selection.

A Cardiff institution for over 60 years. Owner Joe Mettee has kept the approach unchanged — classic cinnamon twists, glazed donuts, decorated cookies, and seasonal breads and rolls.
